Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson form what is, without a doubt, the greatest shooting backcourt in NBA history. The two players are elite sharpshooters, and two of the best shooters in NBA history. While Stephen Curry is considered the greatest shooter of all time by many, there are a few who believe that Klay is a better pure shooter.

But what does Stephen Curry think? During a recent video with GQ Sports where Curry went undercover online, Curry encountered a question which asked who is the better shooter between himself and Klay Thompson. Curry said that he feels he is a better shooter than Klay, but Klay’s level of play always pushes him to be at his very best each time they share a court (0:11 mark).

“I’m glad I’m sitting in this seat right now and not him cause I get to answer and not him. And it’s definitely me. But every great shooter feels like they can beat whoever the next best shooter is. But the fact that he shoots the ball so well, I gotta be on my A-game to beat him no matter when it is.”

Curry clearly thinks highly of himself, but feels very similarly about Klay Thompson. He and Klay have always had a special bond with each other. The two works very well together, and play very well when they share the court. After Klay’s performance in his return game, Curry was thrilled and noted how he is not the shooter he is today without Klay Thompson

Mark Jackson even predicted their success together in 2013, when he warned the NBA that he had the greatest shooting backcourt in NBA history. Jackson was right, but the NBA needed to see it play out before they could admit it. And clearly, Jackson ended up being right.
