Stephen Curry Was Glad To Silence The Haters With 4th Championship Win: “I Hear All The Narratives…”

Warriors point guard Stephen Curry has done almost everything there is to do in the NBA. He has won a title, won an MVP, and acquired almost every single individual accolade there is to collect.

Still, people were doubting and questioning his career. Can he win without Kevin Durant? Can he ever capture a Finals MVP for himself? Can he alone keep the Warriors dynasty alive?

In the aftermath of Golden State’s Finals victory, Steph responded to all the doubters and silenced them for good. I’d be lying if I said he didn’t relish in proving them wrong after Game 6.

(via CBS):

We’ve all heard the narratives. Curry only won in 2015 because Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love were hurt. Then he blew a 3-1 lead. Then he needed Kevin Durant for his next two titles. All of those claims are bogus. Absolute trash. But they were out there, and Curry has been listening. Walking off the court on Thursday, he admitted it feels good to shut the critics up.

“I hear all the narratives,” Curry said. “You hear everything about what we [as a team] are and what we aren’t, and what I am as a player and what I’m not. I have a hard time figuring out what they’re going to say now, so this is pretty special.”

This championship has a different feel. We saw the others coming. In a way, they were supposed to win those.

But this year, the Dubs were more of an afterthought for most of the season and very few people actually thought they would be the last ones standing. It must have been extra special for Curry to win when everyone was counting him out.

Leave it to him to respond in such a huge way despite having nothing left to prove.
