  • Stephen Curry’s trainer Brandon Payne believes the superstar is the most skilled player in NBA history
  • Payne mentioned that Curry has great decision-making ability
  • The trainer also shouted out Curry’s leadership ability

There is no doubt that point guard Stephen Curry is one of the legends of our generation of basketball players. He has helped revolutionize the game with his 3PT shooting, and Curry’s trophy case stacks up well among the best of the best.

Recently, Stephen Curry made many waves by claiming he is the best point guard in NBA history, over Magic Johnson. Though that is certainly a hot take, there are valid arguments for Curry’s case over Johnson. Curry’s trainer Brandon Payne gave an explanation as to why he believes his client is the greatest point guard ever when speaking to Mark Medina of Sportskeeda.

“He’s quite possibly the most skilled basketball player that has ever played. He has the combination with his skill level, his decision-making ability and his level of conditioning. As his career has gone on, he has had increasing level of strength… On top of that, he happens to shoot it pretty well (laughs). He’s been a winner at a very high level, and he’s a leader.”

There is no doubt that one has to be highly skilled to find NBA success at Stephen Curry’s size. He has definitely figured out a way to be a superstar despite his limited physical tools, and it is clear that Curry has accomplished enough with his talent to be considered one of the greatest point guards ever.

Throughout his career, Stephen Curry averaged 24.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game for the Golden State Warriors. He still has time to add even more accomplishments to his resume, and perhaps he can convince more people that he is the best point guard ever in the future.

Shaquille O’Neal Believes Stephen Curry Is The GOAT PG Over Magic Johnson

There is no doubt that a lot of younger generations believe Stephen Curry is better than Magic Johnson. Some former players think that as well, with Shaquille O’Neal notably claiming that Stephen Curry is the GOAT PG.

There is some debate about whether Stephen Curry is a true point guard, as he plays off-ball frequently like a shooting guard. With that being said, most people associate Curry with the point guard position, and it is absolutely fair to rank him against other point guards.

It remains to be seen for how many more years Stephen Curry can dominate the NBA. At its point, he is a complete point guard, and it is easy to see why people think he is the best PG ever.
