Everything that can go wrong for the Golden State Warriors this season is going wrong so far. The defending champions of the NBA were expected to hit the ground running in the 2022-23 NBA season after winning the last season’s NBA title.

But so far, the Warriors have played 29 games in the season and have a record of 14-15. It’s no surprise that the Dubs are currently the 10th seed in the Western Conference. One of the only good things about the Golden State Warriors this season was the amazing form of their superstar Stephen Curry.

However, in the Warriors’ embarrassing 119-125 defeat against the Indiana Pacers, Stephen Curry left the game midway due to a shoulder injury. Considering the Warriors’ poor form, it left everyone worried.

Steve Kerr Is Somewhat Happy Stephen Curry’s Shoulder Injury Is Not That Serious

Steph Curry’s injury will be further reevaluated in two weeks, but the initial report suggests that the 34-year-old is expected to miss several weeks to the left shoulder injury. Keeping that in mind, it’s certainly a bittersweet moment for the Warriors’ head coach Steve Kerr.

On the one hand, he is delighted that Curry’s injury is not serious enough for him to be ruled out for the season. But on the other, Curry’s skills will certainly be missed by the team, even if it’s for a few weeks.

“I have no idea how long he will be out. I’m just relieved it’s not more serious and that he will be back. That was good news today. When guys go down, there’s always opportunity for other players. That’s the case here. We’re going to have to hold down the fort and it’s not going to be easy. It’s been a rough go anyway, even with Steph.”

Considering the Warriors’ record currently, Steph’s absence could prove lethal for the team. But as Kerr mentioned, it’s also an opportunity for other players to rise to the occasion and help the Warriors win games without their superstar. Either way, the next couple of weeks will be incredibly important for the defending champions.
