Steve Kerr Says Stephen Curry And Kevin Durant Are Two Best NBA Players Right Now

It has been an incredible start for Golden State Warriors talisman Stephen Curry. The same could be said for the Brooklyn Nets Star Kevin Durant, as both players have led their teams to wins night after night.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has taken note of both players and has been impressed the most by their performances. To him, those are the two best players in the league right now.

Kerr was asked to share his thoughts on Durant and Curry’s case for MVP this season despite it being so early and he had this to say according to NBC Sports:

“Yeah, no doubt, to me they’ve been the two best players in the league so far.”

Reigning MVP Nikola Jokic is having another great season but it seems very unlikely he will be among the frontrunners given the form KD and Curry are in. Nonetheless, there is still so much basketball to play this season, and things could change down the stretch.

Durant is currently the leading scorer this season with 29.1 points per game, but Curry is close behind. The sharpshooter is averaging 28.1 points while shooting 44.2% from the field.

Kerr has coached both players sometime in the past and has first-hand knowledge of what they can do but is still surprised at the level they play at. After Curry’s 45-point game against the Los Angeles Clippers earlier in the season, Sporting News reported that Kerr was amazed at his productivity.

“Even though we’ve all been here watching it, I’m still blown away. Not just the shooting range, but the competitiveness and the guts and just an amazing, amazing player. What a game he had.”

Both superstars will face-off on Tuesday night at Barclays Center. The Warriors will attempt to get back to winning ways after the Charlotte Hornets snapped their seven-game winning streak, while the Nets will look to extend their winning streak to four.
