Minnesota Timberwolves forward Taurean Prince was arrested in Florida. According to jail records from Miami-Dade County, the 28-year-old NBA player was taken into custody shortly before 6 PM on a “fugitive warrant out of state extradite.” According to NBA insider Andy Slater, the warrant originates from Texas and is regarding ‘dangerous drugs’.
Prince was in San Antonio last week and was part of a ‘Back 2 The Block’ event at a YMCA in the area and distributed school supplies to children heading back this fall. Whether the charge was picked up at that time is still unclear, as this is a developing story.

Prince had signed a 2-year extension with the Timberwolves this offseason and was presumed to be one of the forwards that’ll be crucial to the team’s rotation. The severity of the charges against him is still unclear but may impact the Wolves heading into training camp next month. The Wolves have already released a statement on the matter.

This could have a major impact on the preparations for what should be a red-letter season for the Wolves after they made a trade to acquire Rudy Gobert this summer. The Wolves have gone all-in on extending their playoff success after making the postseason after 4 years in 2022.
This could be a situation for the Wolves but the gravity of it is unclear at the moment. He averaged 7.3 points and 2.5 rebounds last season.
