The Brooklyn Nets’ 2021/22 NBA season has gone wrong ever since Kevin Durant picked up an injury. The 2014 NBA MVP is sidelined and won’t return until after the All-Star break.

Meanwhile, Kyrie Irving and James Harden can’t catch a break, struggling to find their touch on this team that plays nothing as fans expect them. The Utah Jazz dismantled the Nets on Friday night, getting an easy 125-102 win at Vivint Smart Home Arena against a championship candidate.

This game marked the Nets’ 7th consecutive loss, which means terrible news for them not only for their record but the fact that a team going through such a streak has never won the NBA championship.

After the game was over, StatMuse shared a stat that won’t please the Nets nation. They have lost eight of their last 10 outings, posting numbers that aren’t that promising for a team with high expectations before the start of the season.

The Nets are 2-8 since KD’s injury.

They have lost 7 in a row.

No team in NBA history has won a championship after suffering a 7+ game losing streak.

If things were already hard for the Nets, now they have to go against history and show they are capable of winning it all in a stacked Eastern Conference. Their downfall has been dramatic, with rumors suggesting James Harden is frustrated with his tenure at Barclays Center, which could prompt him to depart and join the Philadelphia 76ers before the trade deadline strikes.

Steve Nash and co. have a hard task in their hands. They need to start playing better before it’s too late, as they keep dropping positions in the East. A play-in spot would be awful for them, but anything can happen in the NBA.
