The Los Angeles Lakers were viewed as a championship contender last season, as they signed a lot of experienced veterans. However, that ended up backfiring for the team, as they clearly lacked athleticism and defense, mostly on the wing. They ended up missing the play-in tournament and the playoffs.

It seems as though the team has realized their mistake. It was recently reported by Shams Charania that Troy Brown Jr. and Lonnie Walker have agreed to deals with the Lakers, and they could definitely be solid additions on the wing, as they are lengthy athletic defenders.

Hopefully, the Los Angeles Lakers' fortunes turn next season, and if LeBron James and Anthony Davis stay healthy, they'll be right in the mix for the playoffs. However, they definitely need to make other changes to the roster if they are to be a championship contender. Both Walker IV and Brown Jr. are nice players, but perhaps a splash could get the Los Angeles Lakers a better chance of winning a championship.

With that being said, there is still time for the Los Angeles Lakers to make more additions to their roster either via trade or free agency. We will see if they are able to do so.
