Big man Domantas Sabonis has helped the Sacramento Kings take a 2-0 lead over the Golden State Warriors. There is no doubt that his rebounding and post play has been key for the team, and the Kings would clearly not be in this position without him.

In Game 2, Domantas Sabonis and Draymond Green were involved in an incident where Green ended up stomping on Sabonis and was subsequently ejected. Obviously, these actions are unacceptable, but it seems as though the Warriors have some complaints of their own towards Sabonis. A recent report revealed that the team is frustrated with Sabonis using “the ball as a weapon on offense.”

“There is some anger within the organization toward the league. There’s a sense in the organization that Sabonis is shoving people on offensive rebounds and playing with his elbows out and using the ball as a weapon on offense.”

It will be interesting to see if the NBA ends up responding to the Warriors’ frustrations in the future. Part of what is being described is typical physical center play, but perhaps the league will think differently if presented with the team’s frustration.

In the Kings’ first two games of the playoffs, Domantas Sabonis has averaged 18.0 PPG, 12.5 RPG, and 3.0 APG. The team will need even more from him if they are to win the series, and we’ll see if the center steps up for them.

Domantas Sabonis Had To Get X-Rays After Getting Stomped On By Draymond Green

There is no doubt that Domantas Sabonis could have been seriously hurt due to Draymond Green’s actions. In fact, at one point, he was getting X-rays on his ribs and lungs due to the incident.

“Sacramento Kings All-Star Domantas Sabonis is undergoing X-rays on his ribs/lungs, sources tell ESPN. Sabonis is getting evaluated after Draymond Green stepped on him in Game 2.”

The most recent reporting suggests that Domantas Sabonis will play in Game 3, and it is good to see that he is alright following the incident. It will be interesting to see whether he will continue to be physical on the boards and on the interior or whether he’ll have to take a step back in that area due to his sternum injury.

The Sacramento Kings definitely have a solid chance of winning this series. However, the Golden State Warriors are the reigning champions, and the Kings will need to play elite basketball to eliminate them.
