Tim Duncan played 19 years in the NBA, becoming one of the most beloved and respected players in the history of the game. He spent his entire 19-year career with one franchise, the San Antonio Spurs, taking them to the promised land not once, not twice but five times in his career, while playing in six NBA Finals. TD is now widely considered as the greatest power forward of all time after all the things he did in his career and fans still don’t seem to know everything he achieved during his NBA career.

One of the most impressive things about Duncan and his Spurs, in general, is that he has a winning record against every franchise in the NBA. TD was apart of some competitive teams during his career with San Antonio and his team was just a nightmare for everybody that faced them. Redditor “illumithottie” did the research and found out Duncan has a winning record against every NBA franchise. Again, it was 19 years that he spent in the league and he dominated the 29 other teams in the association during that time.

He always had a hard rival in the Oklahoma City Thunder led by Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, but San Antonio still managed to get past those players and have a 51.1 winning percentage against them. The team that suffered Duncan the most were the Golden State Warriors, who were competitive again when TD’s career was nearing its end. San Antonio and Golden State would engage in big battles recently but Duncan wasn’t part of the team anymore.

He had an 80 winning percentage over six teams in the league and 70% of victories against 11 teams. In his career, he won 1158 games and lost 485, recording 70.5% of victories. Since everything can’t be perfect, Duncan had a losing record against two teams, in the postseason. The Los Angeles Lakers and the aforementioned Thunder were a big obstacle to this team, beating him 18 and 10 times, respectively, while Duncan beat the Lakers 16 times and the Thunder 8 times.

The Big Fundamental only lost one NBA Finals, winning five with his Spurs. He totaled 23 wins and 11 losses in those series, having a 67.6 winning percentage.

This Redditor also gave us some “misc Facts and observations.”

  • Tim Duncan never missed a game against Boston.
  • His regular-season win % is equivalent to a 59 win season.
  • He played the most games against Dallas, 100, and the least against Charlotte, 28 (makes sense since they didn’t exist for two seasons). The next team which he played the least amount of games against was the Hawks, whom he coincidentally played 32 games against.
  • He never lost a game against the Vancouver Grizzlies, with an all-time record of 14-0.
  • I didn’t expect him to dominate the Trailblazers in the playoffs as much as he did considering how consistently good they’ve been.
  • Tim Duncan came off the bench 3 times in his career.
  • When counting Tim Duncan’s record against the Charlotte Bobcats since the revitalization of the franchise, his win % is 85%. This would be his highest win % against any team. Lebron has a similarly high win % against the Horcats, 89.1%, his second-highest win % behind the Cavs.
  • Swept a team 9 times in the playoffs.
  • Was swept by a team twice in the playoffs (Lakers ’01, Suns ’10).
  • Lost in the first round 3 times (Mavs ’09, Grizzlies ’11, Clippers ’15).

There is no doubt that Tim Duncan and the San Antonio Spurs were one of the great associations in the league and their success was unmatched. The player retired as one of the greatest of all time in his position and with all due reason. He dominated every team in the league, having impressive numbers against each of them.
