Tobias Harris Admits Sixers “Haven’t Had The Best Chemistry”

2 Min Read

After being favored to reach the Eastern Conference Finals, the Philadelphia 76ers haven’t exactly impressed. This season, before the NBAs hiatus, they were 6th in the East with a 39-26 record.

While their problems can’t be traced back to one particular issue, locker room chemistry can no doubt be linked to their misfortunate. Tobias Harris said as much in an interview with NBC Sports.

“I’ll just say, and I’ll keep it real, we haven’t had the best chemistry throughout the whole year. It took us a while to kind of get everyone together, we battled injuries from the start to the end. And right now, if we’re the sleeper, then we’re the sleeper. Truth be told, how we’re viewed, that’s someone else’s opinion, but I know when I look my guys in the eye and we have conversations, we have one goal in mind, and that’s to go out there and play and win a championship.”

The Sixers have a ticket to the postseason, but they’re not exactly favored to win. Joel Embiid’s health issues are a concern, Ben Simmons’s shooting struggles still exist, and Philadelphia still has yet to fill the void left by Jimmy Butler’s departure.

Nevertheless, Tobias seems confident in the ability of his team to overcome these obstacles and make a deep playoff run this summer. It will be interesting to see what they are capable of.
