Ja Morant Reveals The NSFW Plan For His Personalized Jersey

2 Min Read

In order to promote social justice and racial equality, the NBA is allowing players to personalize the back their jerseys with a message of their choice. The idea is that players use this opportunity to spread messages like “Black Lives Matter” or “Reform the Police” or even draw attention to some of the victims of police brutality by including their names on the jerseys.

But for Grizzlies rookie Ja Morant, his message is much simpler.

As funny as it would be to include expletives or memes on the jerseys, it’s unlikely that the NBA would allow that. Still, fans got a hoot of it online. For others, though, they took it as Ja being insensitive to what the NBA is trying to do and the issues plaguing our time.

Nevertheless, the NBA’s steps to give a voice to the BLM movement is being well received. They have always, usually, been on the right side of history and this is no different.

As protests and movements continue worldwide, people are going to continue to speak their minds and stand up for what they believe in. Ja is no different, even if he made a bit of a joke about it.
