The Chicago Bulls are making small moves this summer to hopefully have a better season in 2023-24 with the star duo of Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan

The Bulls signed forward Torrey Craig this summer to be a defensive presence in the frontline. Unfortunately for Craig, his No. 3 is currently being worn by Andre Drummond, something Craig offered to buy off Drummond, resulting in a hilarious conversation.

Coby White is like a third team in a trade in this situation, as he holds the cards in facilitating the move to his teammates’ preferred jersey numbers. No. 33 is retired in honor of Scottie Pippen, so it seems Craig will have to pick something else unless White gives Drummond No. 0 once again.

The Bulls Stuck In A Mid Table Cycle

The Chicago Bulls showed incredible promise for two months in the 2021-22 season before Lonzo Ball’s injury completely derailed them. With Ball expected to miss another season recovering from that injury, the Bulls are running out Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan to be a middling team battling for the play-in tournament.

The team hasn’t made any major moves in free agency either, signing Jevon Carter, and Torrey Craig, while seeing Andre Drummond return after he accepted his player option. Nikola Vucevic was re-signed to a long-term contract, and free agent guards Coby White and Ayo Dosunmu are expected to return.

There were no moves made that change the Bulls’ estimate for success next season. Being a top-six team in the East will be very challenging, so they’ll hope they can at least make the play-in tournament. They ended last season with a 40-42 record and lost to the Miami Heat in the final play-in game for the Eastern eighth seed.
