Tracy McGrady is considered one of the most skilled players in NBA history. The former All-Star was a sensational player, known for his scoring and his ability to dribble the ball with ease. McGrady was a model player who could set the standard for his team on any given night.

In a recent interview with Kevin Garnett, Tracy McGrady gave some valuable advice to young rising players. “I make sure one, on to the next play. Regardless of what happens,” McGrady said. “You gotta have a short memory. Don’t live in that moment. You made a mistake, let’s go ahead and go to the next one”.

“Try not to make that same mistake. On the offensive end, I teach them to try and play and be creative off a three-dribble max… If you can master your game at a max of three dribbles, you can play anywhere. Coach says ‘Move the ball!’. I gotta get these three dribbles and make something happen.”

“If I master learning how to play within three dribbles and get my game off, that’s mastering the game. All the kids are not going to be that player that has the ball in their hands to initiate and do what they want to do.”

McGrady gave some really solid advice to players who want to play high-level basketball. Considering that every player in the world will not have the trust to hold the ball at every possession, knowing how to make good plays with few dribbles will be key to any player’s success in the NBA.
