Trae’s Dad Ray Young: “8 Years Ago I Told Danny Ainge And Brad Stevens To Keep An Eye On This Kid. They Gave Me That ‘Sure Dad, Just Take The Pic Already’ Look.”

Ray Young shared an incredible picture of his son, Atlanta Hawks’ guard Trae Young with two prominent figures within the Boston Celtics organization. Eight years ago, the teenager took a pic with Brad Stevens and Danny Ainge, something that his dad never forgot.

Recently, Ray shared the pic with the world, remembering that Stevens and Ainge were very polite with them but weren’t convinced that Trae would make it to the NBA.

8 years ago to date July 10, 2013 I told Danny Ainge & coach Brad to keep an eye on this kid. They gave me that “sure dad, just take the pic already” look. But seriously, they were both kind enough to give my son words of encouragement.

Before becoming the villain of the playoffs, Trae was often overlooked. Well, not anymore after he put up a show this campaign.

Young has come a long way, becoming one of the villains of the 2021 NBA playoffs. In his first participation in the postseason, he led the Atlanta Hawks to the Eastern Conference finals, beating the New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers in the process.

The young guard made a statement this season, and the Hawks are ready to go through the fire with him. This kid’s future is incredibly promising, and we can’t wait to see what’s next.
