Ultimate Power: Bradley Beal Has “LeBron James Privileges” On The Washington Wizards

Very few stars get as much control and power in their organization as LeBron James. For the most part, players are there to play, and the front-office kind of does its own thing.

For Bradley Beal of the Washington Wizards, however, he’s one of the few with privileges akin to LeBron himself. Here’s the story, written by Chris Crouse.

“The Wizards continue to build around Beal and Russell Westbrook and the front office continues to consult Beal on major moves, something that the shooting guard truly values,” wrote Chris Crouse of FortyEightMinutes.com.

“’It’s a LeBron James-esque situation,’ a source close to the situation tells FortyEightMinutes.

Very few stars are as in tune with their front office and Beal is undoubtedly aware that he’s unlikely to get this kind of situation elsewhere. Some organizations simply won’t include stars in such detailed decisions. James himself didn’t get the same kind of input in Miami that he did during stints in Cleveland and Los Angeles.”

It’s not surprising that his relationship with the team is one of the reasons he hasn’t yet abandoned ship. He might not get the same treatment anywhere else, especially if he goes to a team with one or two other superstars.

Despite their struggles, the Wizards remain a place where Beal can have some significant pull over what moves the team makes — whether that’s a coaching change, player trade, or free-agent signing.

That is a rare thing, and it’s clear that Beal is a huge fan. Let’s just hope they can start turning things around somewhat soon.
