Michael Jordan should be out enjoying another big bump to his status as a billionaire after the sale of his majority stake in the Charlotte Hornets was finalized by the NBA at a $3 billion valuation. Instead, it seems he was caught up with some controversial popular figures tonight.
Jordan was spotted being the voice of reason in an argument between hip-hop personalities Charleston White and Wack 100.

Wack 100 is a former music manager, while Charleston White is a social media influencer with a rabid following. The reason behind this skirmish is unclear, but thankfully, Jordan was there to separate the pair before leaving the area. Even as a retired player, MJ is getting some blocks on his resume.
Michael Jordan Is No Longer An NBA Governor
Jordan was the only Black governor in the NBA, ceding his position to new Hornets’ owners Gabe Plotkin and Rick Schnall. While Jordan had to capitalize on his $275 million investment fetching him billions, it was cool to see a former player in the driving seat of a franchise. Until LeBron James has his dreams of owning a Las Vegas-based franchise, the league will have no former player as a majority owner of a franchise.
The sale of the Hornets went through the league channels pretty amicably but saw a surprising stutter when Knicks owner James Dolan voted against the sale in the Board of Governors meeting. Whether there is a latent rivalry between Dolan and the new owners is unclear, but it’ll be interesting for everyone if there is one.
The only major owner rivalry in the league right now seems to be between Mat Ishbia of the Phoenix Suns and Dan Gilbert of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Some more rivalries can make this league even more interesting.
