In the 2017 NBA Draft, the Hornets drafted Malik Monk 11th overall, a player MJ took a liking to. Monk is a dynamic scorer and is proving that this season with the Sacramento Kings, as his development stalled in Charlotte before he left for the Lakers in 2021 and joined the Kings this season.
