The Los Angeles Lakers are currently playing in Game 2 of their first-round series against the Memphis Grizzlies, and it is clear that this is a fun series between two talented teams. When teams are as evenly matched as these two are, things can get pretty competitive.

There has already been some trash talk that has been present during this game. After scoring a tough midrange basket, we saw LeBron James trash-talk Dillon Brooks, who has been the primary defender assigned to the superstar.

There is no doubt that trash talk is simply part of playing in a competitive sports league such as the NBA. The Grizzlies are also a team known for trash-talking, and Dillon Brooks was also willing to talk back to LeBron James while the superstar was heading back on the defensive end.

This regular season, LeBron James averaged 28.9 PPG, 8.3 RPG, and 6.8 APG for the Los Angeles Lakers. The team will need him to dominate to get far in the playoffs, and the superstar has always been up to that challenge.

Dillon Brooks Previously Stated That He’s Fine Facing LeBron James In The First Round

Before the playoffs, Dillon Brooks claimed that he wouldn’t mind facing LeBron James in a seven-game series. He pointed out that it would be a good test for the Grizzlies and a good first-round matchup overall.

“I wouldn’t mind playing LeBron in a 7-game series,” said Brooks. “The legacy is there. First time back in the playoffs, knock him out right away in the first round. It’ll test us good. They got good pieces, good players, and that’ll be a good 1st round matchup for us.”

The Los Angeles Lakers did manage to win their first game against the Memphis Grizzlies, and it is clear that this series won’t be easy for the young team. However, the Memphis Grizzlies definitely have the overall talent to keep up with the Los Angeles Lakers when the team is healthy. Even beyond Ja Morant, they have other solid players that can really make things difficult for the Lakers.

It is never wise to count out LeBron James and Los Angeles Lakers, and the Memphis Grizzlies will need to be at their best to beat them. Still, they are confident, and sometimes, that is all you need.
