The Los Angeles Lakers are currently facing off against the Memphis Grizzlies, and there’s no doubt that this is a heated matchup between two evenly-matched teams. There is no doubt that this will be a physical series throughout.
There has already been some physicality present during the game. A recent video showed Anthony Davis getting elbowed in the eye by Desmond Bane, resulting in him bleeding. However, the action was clearly an accident.

Anthony Davis ended up staying in the game, and luckily he did not sustain a serious injury. Hopefully, he can step up later in the game, as the Lakers desperately need his two-way play in this matchup.
This regular season, Anthony Davis has averaged 25.9 PPG, 12.5 RPG, and 2.6 APG for the Los Angeles Lakers. The team will require that kind of production throughout the playoffs, and hopefully, the big man is up for the challenge.
Desmond Bane Thinks Ball Movement Is The Key To The Memphis Grizzlies Beating Anthony Davis’ Defense
There is no doubt that Anthony Davis is a tough player to face for any team on the defensive end, as he is capable of guarding multiple positions and protecting the rim. Previously, Desmond Bane claimed that the key to beating an Anthony Davis-led team would be ball movement.
βItβs going to be a challenge the whole series,β Bane said. “I think ball movement is going to have to be at a premium. We felt like we played well, but we can definitely play a whole lot better. We still had our chances.”
Going at Anthony Davis in isolation is definitely not a winning recipe for any team. He is clearly an elite defender and a DPOY-level anchor on that end when he is healthy. It is far easier to try and move the ball and try to hunt more favorable matchups where it is easier to score.
Of course, there are other elite defenders on the Los Angeles Lakers roster that can give the Memphis Grizzlies some trouble. Jarred Vanderbilt is elite on that end of the floor, as is LeBron James when he is locked in. However, going at either player is more preferable to trying to challenge Anthony Davis, whether that is on the interior or on the perimeter.
