Kendrick Perkins Calls Out JJ Redick For Saying Referees Are Favoring The Kings Over The Warriors

Kendrick Perkins was not happy about JJ Redick's statement on the officiating in Warriors-Kings series.

The Golden State Warriors are down 2-0 to the Sacramento Kings in their first-round series and are at risk of being down 3-0 if they lose Game 3 at home. There is no doubt that this has been a tough series for them, and many expected them to have less trouble beating the Kings.

Recently, NBA analyst JJ Redick claimed that the referees are favoring the Sacramento Kings over the Golden State Warriors. Kendrick Perkins recently called out Redick for his statement, and it is clear that Perkins is not a fan of the sentiment.

This Biggest bunch of BS I’ve heard all week. Real Talk. https://t.co/zQgC5jfZV9

In his original statement on this matter, Redick claimed that the officials have “allowed too much” contact to happen in the series, adding that the game has to be called the way it is “supposed to be called” for the Warriors to have a chance of winning the series.

“[The officials] have allowed too much in this series. They have allowed too much,” Redick said emphatically. “I have no problem with physical play in the playoffs. But if Steph Curry is not allowed to move off the ball… If you’re preventing players from running down the court and you’re allowing that to happen… There was a play late in Game 2 where Kevon Looney is underneath the rim ready for a rebound and Sabonis crashes in, pushes him in the back. They don’t call the foul. That’s a foul.

“The referees have dictated too much in the Kings’ favor in the series. I really believe that, and I don’t know if it’s the home crowd or whatever. I rarely complain about the referees. In fact, I don’t know if I’ve ever complained about the referees. I think they’re great. But if [the Warriors] are going to come back in the series, they’ve gotta call the game the way the game is supposed to be called.”

It will be interesting to see if Kendrick Perkins will elaborate on his criticism of JJ Redick’s statements. Generally, more contact and physicality are allowed in the playoffs. Most of the contact would likely be called as a foul in the regular season, and it is up to the players to adjust.

Draymond Green’s Game 3 Suspension Could Be Costly For The Warriors

There is no doubt that Draymond Green’s suspension for Game 3 is far from the ideal scenario for the Golden State Warriors. Their defense will be much worse without him, and his playmaking will absolutely be missed.

However, the Golden State Warriors have the talent to withstand the forward’s absence. Hopefully, players like Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole will step up, and we’ll see what happens in the future.
