Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr went viral on Friday night, for his reaction to finally winning a coach’s challenge during the game against the San Antonio Spurs.

“I know I’m gonna lose it,” a mic’d Kerr said. “I know I’m gonna lose, but I’m gonna challenge it anyway.

Upon finding out that he won the challenge, Kerr went into a state of total shock.

The officials had called a foul on Dario Saric when the Warriors were up 79-68 late in the third quarter and Kerr disagreed with the call. Considering recent events, he didn’t expect them to overturn the call but they did. Kerr can be quite funny at times, and this reaction of his was an all-timer.

Steve Kerr Was Not Happy After Losing A Coach’s Challenge Against The Thunder

For those wondering why Kerr reacted in this manner, you’d have to go back to the game between the Warriors and the Oklahoma City Thunder on November 18. In the closing stages of regulation, Kerr challenged a blocking foul that was called on Andrew Wiggins, but the officials did not overturn it.

The Warriors would eventually go on to lose in overtime and their head coach was not happy about not winning the challenge. After the game, Kerr called out NBA rules for the controversial decision in their loss to the Thunder.

“I was disappointed we didn’t get the challenge. I thought, from the replay, it looked like Wiggs was in position, went up and he swiped down, but he didn’t hit him. But they said it was a block, that the NBA has this ‘legal guarding position’ thing they talk about, and we’re the only league in the world where, if you’re sliding your feet and you’re moving a little bit and the guy bumps into you, we call a blocking foul because it’s legal guarding position. So, I was disappointed on that play, but it’s the way it goes.”

Just a few nights after this on Wednesday, the Phoenix Suns shot 52 free throws against the Warriors, so it is understandable that Kerr is a bit upset over the officiating. There would be some questionable calls against the Spurs as well, but the Warriors would still end up winning 118-112.

They now improve to 8-9 on the season and 2-1 in the In-Season Tournament with this result.

Stephen Curry Continues To Shoulder A Heavy Load For The Warriors

The Warriors got this win on the back of another exceptional showing from Stephen Curry. The 35-year-old had 35 points, 3 rebounds, 6 assists, and 1 steal against the Spurs, but you start to get a bit worried about the load on him, as he isn’t getting much support.

Klay Thompson had 15 points, 3 rebounds, 6 assists, and 1 steal, but shot just 3-11 from the field. Andrew Wiggins, meanwhile, had just 10 points and 4 rebounds on 4-10 shooting.

Dario Saric ended up being the second-leading scorer for the Warriors with 20 points off the bench and they’re not going to accomplish anything of note this season if this keeps up. Thompson and Wiggins have to step up, and while you would like to think they will, they’ve given little reason so far for anyone to believe that will happen.
