Zach LaVine Takes A Slight Shot At His Former Teammates: “We Appreciate Former Teammates. But We Got A Lot Better. I’m Extremely Excited.”

The Chicago Bulls were one of the most active teams in the trade market, landing a very good player in Nikola Vucevic from the Orlando Magic, who cleaned the house and shipped the Swiss player to the Windy City. They made more additions like Daniel Theis from the Boston Celtics and Al-Farouq Aminu, who landed in Chicago with Vucevic.

During the trade deadline, they dealt Otto Porter, Daniel Gafford, Chandler Hutchison, Wendell Carter Jr., and Luke Kornet in trades with the Magic, Boston Celtics and Washington Wizards.

They had a really good day and their best player was really excited about it. Zach LaVine has been part of struggling teams during his entire career and it’s good to know that the Bulls have a big chance to make it to the postseason this year after the upgrades they made on the roster. Talking about the trade deadline, he mentioned his former teammates, saying he has nothing but appreciation for them but it was good to know the team got better when they headed out.

He did admit that it’s tough to see teammates go but it didn’t seem to be that bad for him. He took a slight shot at his older teammates and got ready to what’s next for Billy Donovan and his pupils.

“We appreciate former teammates. But we got a lot better. I’m extremely excited… We all appreciate what those guys brought and sacrifices they made for the Bulls. Trade deadlines, draft night, offseason, that’s when you lose teammates and friends. I reached out to each one of those guys and let them know I appreciate them, wished them luck.”

The Bulls were reportedly chasing Lonzo Ball but they couldn’t get a deal done with the New Orleans Pelicans. If they landed the point guard, the Big 3 of LaVine, Vucevic, and Ball would have been very fun to watch.

They still pulled off very interesting moves and now it’s time to see if they have what it takes to compete in the East. LaVine is confident they got a lot better and can’t wait to enjoy the rest of the season with Chicago.
