Lakers’ DeMarcus Cousins Could Return This Season

2 Min Read

With the NBA All-Star break quickly approaching, teams are settling into their spots as they prepare for the inevitable playoff push.

For the Lakers, they are fortunate enough to have one of their best players on the mend: 4x All-Star DeMarcus Cousins. With a 28-7 record overall, the team has no need to rush his return. But, according to Harrison Faigen of Silver Screen and Roll, he is working hard at a comeback, and could lace-up at some point this season.

“But that’s just like light jogging and those types of things. There is still a long way to go,” Vogel cautioned, but he added that he thinks there is also still a chance of Cousins coming back.

”As far as I know he’s still on track. He’s still a possibility to play this year, but I can’t really go into more detail,” Vogel said.

After several MVP-like seasons in Sacramento and New Orleans, DeMarcus Cousins suffered a series of devastating injuries that have sidelined him for the majority of the past three seasons.

The Lakers were one of a few teams to give Cousins a chance this past summer, only for him to go down again before the season started.

We shouldn’t expect him back soon, but the fact that we can expect him back at all is not something to take lightly. DeMarcus is clearly working hard to go out on his own terms.
