Rajon Rondo On Why He And DeMarcus Cousins Got Along In Sacramento, NOLA And L.A.: ‘In The Words Of Kobe, We Were Both A**holes. We’re Both Hardheaded.’

2 Min Read

Throughout the course of their careers, both Rajon Rondo and DeMarcus Cousins have been pretty controversial players. You either love them or you hate them. There’s no in-between.

It’s pretty clear that they’re special talents. They can make a huge impact on any team they are and they both love to compete at the highest level, and that has rubbed a lot of people the wrong way more often than not.

In fact, it was a bit of a surprise to see them getting along as well as they’ve done it over the years, as they were both deemed troublemakers and most people thought they would get at it in the locker room in no time. So, when Rondo was asked about why he believes that they’ve gotten along so well in the Sacramento Kings, New Orleans Pelicans, and Los Angeles Lakers, he gave a pretty honest and blunt response:

“In the words of Kobe. We’re both a**holes. We’re both hardheaded,” Rondo said.

Rondo has been a headache for multiple coaches but his game vision and defense make him worth the trouble. He’s now having a huge role off the bench in the playoffs for the Los Angeles Lakers and, as usual, he’s delivering when it matters the most.

As for Cousins, he was supposed to be the third wheel on the Los Angeles Lakers’ Big 3 but wasn’t even able to suit up this season as he suffered a major knee injury in the summer. However, he’s expected to be a part of their plans for next year as well, so they’re likely to be teammates for even more years.
