Skip Bayless: ‘Luka Doncic Can’t Shoot, Can’t Clutch Shoot, And Is A Defensive Liability’

2 Min Read

It looks like Skip Bayless has found his new target after LeBron James retires from the game of basketball. The sports analyst has recently set his sights on Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic and has taken a couple of shots at the Slovenian point guard. Bayless has become famous for his odd takes that had nothing to do with reality when it comes to LeBron, Kevin Durant, Damian Lillard and more.

Well, he’s now going after Doncic, claiming the player can’t shoot and hurts the Mavericks with his nearly nonexistent defense. During a recent edition of FS1’s Undisputed, Bayless attacked Doncic for his shooting ability and his passive defense, calling it a ‘liability.’ When talking about Doncic’s ESPN ranking, Bayless revealed his real thoughts about Luka.

“Riddle me this, the 4th best player who says the NBA ranking, can’t shoot, can’t clutch shoot and is a defensive liability. Help me out here, I give you, really gifted passer, there is no doubt, maybe second to LeBron. He finally makes a walk-off against my Clippers and before them, last season, in last-minute shots, potential game-tying or go-ahead shots, he was 0 for 10 in the fourth quarter or overtime. 0 for 10 until he finally made it, he was 1 for 11. Clutch? He had 21 missed 3-point shots in the final minutes of games last year, that ranked last in the NBA.”

Luka is only 22 and he showed improvement on his shoot last season. People tend to forget he’s only 21 years old and has a lot of room to improve his game. He’s already one of the 10 best players in the league and is only entering his third season. Doncic knows he can do a lot better and he’s working on that. But attacking him for that is a little too much. But hey, this is Skip Bayless we’re talking about.
