Skip Bayless Says Joel Embiid Is MVP, Snubs LeBron James: “I’ll Take Joel Embiid Over LeBron For MVP. When He Plays, He’s On Another Planet. Joel Is Having A Better Year Than LeBron.”

2 Min Read

LeBron James and Joel Embiid are both candidates to become MVP this season, and their games couldn’t be more different. Joel Embiid is a bruising post scorer with amazing defense, while LeBron is an elite playmaker with the best basketball IQ in the world. Both deserve the award, as they are having elite seasons, while their teams are both top seeds in their conferences.

Recently, sports analyst Skip Bayless has thrown his support behind Joel Embiid for the MVP award, saying that the Cameroonian big man was “on another planet”. Bayless also claimed that Joel Embiid is having a better year than LeBron James.

Joel Embiid is having a truly wondrous season, averaging 29.1 PPG and 11.0 RPG this season, all while being a phenomenal rim protector. But LeBron James isn’t slacking either, averaging 25.6 PPG, 8.0 RPG, and 8.0 APG. This MVP will clearly go down to the wire. While most people recognize LeBron James as the best player in the world, Joel Embiid is deserving of some recognition, and could perhaps win the MVP award.

It remains to be seen who people select to be the MVP. There are plenty of deserving cases from players around the league but there can only be one victor. It remains a long road until the end of the season. Hopefully, we continue seeing players put up great games in their bids for MVP, which means everyone gets to watch amazing performances.
