LeBron James Joked With Metta Sandiford-Artest: “Stay Ready Cause We May Need Your A** Man.”

The Los Angeles Lakers have been an inconsistent team during this season, and there’s no doubt that they have disappointed many fans who thought they were going to be one of the best teams in the league.

However, they did end up beating the Houston Rockets today, even with players like Anthony Davis, Trevor Ariza, and Kendrick Nunn remaining sidelined. LeBron James and Russell Westbrook both put up triple-doubles to secure the victory.

The whole league has dealt with players missing time due to getting put in health and safety protocols, and the Lakers were no exception. After the Lakers-Rockets game, LeBron James joked with former Laker Metta Sandiford-Artest about potentially returning, because the Lakers “may need” him. (3:20)

Chris Geeter McGee: LeBron you know we always apprecaite your time, and Metta said he’s ready for a 10-day if you need him.

LeBron James: Ay listen. Metta, stay ready cause we may need your a** man.

There have been a lot of veterans such as Joe Johnson that have been granted 10-day contracts in the league due to many players missing time. Metta Sandiford-Artest is currently 42 though, and it’s unlikely that he’d be offered a 10-day, no matter how fun the idea would sound. However, nothing is impossible in the NBA, even if it is highly improbable.

The Los Angeles Lakers will need to have more games like this going forward if they want to go on a run and move towards in the standings. When Anthony Davis returns, they should be an even better team than they are right now. Hopefully, we see them improve as the season goes on. The Los Angeles Lakers have the talent to be a contending team, though obviously, we have not seen the whole team work together like everyone envisioned.
