The global COVID-19 pandemic has affected us all. One of the ways it has affected people is the increase in people, in general, deciding to quarantine and separating themselves from others when sick. That also applies to NBA players who are sidelined with health and safety protocols.

Prior to the Brooklyn Nets game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Christmas Day, James Harden was in fact sidelined due to the health and safety protocols and ended up quarantining. James Harden was subsequently asked what he was doing during his quarantine and gave a relatable answer.

What did James Harden do in quarantine?

I was doing a lot of nothing… video games and binge watching.

A lot of people in the United States have already been through quarantine, and Harden playing video games and binge-watching TV shows sounds like what most people would turn to during an isolation period. Of course, social media and other forms of communication exist, but it’s not the same as being able to go out and do something or meeting up with some friends. It is good to see though, that James Harden is being safe during quarantine and not doing high-risk activities.

The Brooklyn Nets did end up winning the game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Christmas Day, with James Harden putting up a triple-double, with 36 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. It was clear that James Harden didn’t miss a beat during his time away from the team. Hopefully, we see more performances like this from him in the future, especially after many have criticized Harden for not scoring as much as he used to.

Kyrie Irving will return to the Brooklyn Nets at some point in the future, and some have suggested that he will help James Harden play better. The Brooklyn Nets have been good with just Kevin Durant and James Harden, but having Kyrie Irving back will take them to another level. It’ll be interesting to see if they can improve further, and there is no doubt that they’re a championship-caliber team currently.
