The Los Angeles Lakers pulled off what is the biggest trade in NBA history, sending Anthony Davis to the Dallas Mavericks in a package for Luka Doncic. The trade caught everyone off guard, including LeBron James who only found out at a restaurant after the Lakers played the Knicks. Now the dust has settled, James took to Instagram to share a positive message to his now-former championship teammate.
“Love you, my dog!! Go crazy over there! Woe 4L! See you soon.”

The Lakers had kept LeBron James in the dark over their decision to trade Anthony Davis to the Mavericks. It is surprising that James didn’t find out, given that both he and Anthony Davis share the same agent – Rich Paul. Paul apparently only got the information 48 hours before the deal got finalized, and kept the information close to the vest.
In one of the sadder stories to emerge from the trade, Davis allegedly only got the information about his trade mere minutes after he sent his now-former Lakers teammates congratulatory messages over their win against the Knicks.
There was some speculation that James and Davis’ relationship had deteriorated, which led to the trade. However, James quickly came out and shut those rumors down. He and Davis had always maintained a strong relationship on and off the court, with James playing a big part in recruiting him to the Lakers in 2019.
Some within the industry with close connections to NBA franchises were alleging that the Lakers could trade LeBron James to the Golden State Warriors in a historic move to pair him with Stephen Curry. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case, as James is going to be staying with the Lakers and playing alongside Luka Doncic.
