Scottie Pippen Says Kobe Bryant Reminds Him A Lot Of Michael Jordan: “He Was One Of The Toughest Players I Ever Played Against”

Scottie Pippen has been in the news a lot recently since the release of his memoir “Unguarded.” He has come for everybody and every dynasty, with Michael Jordan being at the top of the slander list.

However, the six-time NBA champ only had good things to say about Kobe Bryant. The Los Angeles Lakers legend seems to be the only one that did not get any heat from Pippen.

Speaking on SiriusXM NBA Radio, he had this to say about Kobe:

“He was definitely prime Kobe, a very tough player to guard,” stated Pippen. “Reminded me a lot about competing against Michael, day in and day out. But I was older and he was younger, so it was a lot different. He was definitely one of the toughest that I’ve ever played against. Especially once Phil got a hold of him and Shaq, and got that team really playing together, and playing with some chemistry. They were a very special team.”

Pippen went ahead to comment on how great the team would have been if they stayed together. In his opinion, they would have been better than the Golden State Warriors dynasty.

“The Shaq and Kobe era, to me, was a lot more scarier of what they could have done, had they stayed together than the Golden State era.”

When asked who would win if the best Shaq and Kobe team faced the best Pippen and Jordan team, Pippen did not mince his words.

“I have said this to Shaq, the Bulls winning that… the Bulls winning that easy.”

Despite all the bad things Scottie has had to say about Jordan, he still agrees that no one else could beat them on the court.

Recently, he threw a shade at Michael Jordan, saying it was easier to play with the flu than with a herniated disc. And he didn’t stop with that. He also explained why the 1999 Rockets superteam was a failure and why it didn’t work with Hakeem Olajuwon and Charles Barkley.

Pippen also drew praise from Bryant, who called him a genius for his defensive abilities.
