Pounding The Rock

When it comes to the sport of basketball, Team USA is considered the best of the best.

But after their shocking exhibition loss to Nigeria on Saturday, fans proceeded to roast Team USA and specifically Gregg Popovich, for blowing their final possession of the game, which they could have won had they executed correctly.

USA Basketball's Gregg Popovich after stunning exhibition loss to Nigeria: "In a way, I’m kind of glad it happened. That means nothing if we don’t learn from it. It could be the most important thing in this tournament for us."

Still time to turn it around, but the Popovich era of USA basketball has been pretty rough so far.

That final play was an absolute disaster, and it’s clear to see why many fans are having a hard time with it.

The USA has been at the top of the basketball world for many years now, and nobody is really expecting them to lose games. Their roster is the best in the world and it’s clear that they are still at the top of the sport.

But their loss to Nigeria tonight came as a shock to many, and many are taking it as an indictment on Gregg Popovich himself.

Despite being a multiple-time Champion as head coach of the Spurs, Pop’s legacy as a coaching genius is being threatened with this loss to Nigeria.

Fans all around the world are throwing major shade at his coaching skills, and many believe it was his playcalling that cost them the game, Whatever the case, it will be up to Pop the Team USA roster to show that they are still among the best basketball country on the planet.
