Anthony Davis is sticking with No. 3 for the rest of his tenure with the Lakers. The Brow’s initial intentions were getting No. 23 from LeBron James, but some issues with the jersey’s manufacturer ruined his plans.
Now that Bron is changing to No. 6 again, many people believed it was time for AD to get #23 back, but the player declined that option. In a recent stream, the player explained the reasons behind that decision.
“The plan is to have No. 3 hanging in the rafters,” Davis said.
It’s not hard to see why AD is sticking with No. 3. He won his first championship wearing that number, and there’s no reason for him to change it now. Besides, Lakers fans already got used to him using that number.
The 2021/22 NBA season will bring some significant changes for the Los Angeles Lakers. After failing to defend their 2020 championship, the purple and gold will have an entertaining offseason. We’ll probably watch more than one change besides LeBron returning to No. 6.
The team’s front office has work to do if they want to return to the top of the league. They’ve been linked with big names like Damian Lillard and Russell Westbrook, but we won’t know their actual plans until after the end of the season.
