18 years after he retired from the NBA, Michael Jordan remains one of the most influential celebrities in the world. His Airness left a significant mark on the world with his performances on the court and his impact on fans in general.

Jordan is an icon that transcended the barriers of his own sport. His competitiveness, personality, Jordan Brand and more, made him the global icon he is right now. That’s why plenty of people still admire MJ and don’t miss a chance to meet him or take advantage of his status to draw much attention.

Although Jordan always liked to win in life, basketball, and business, he’s not one to take easy money to make any appearance. David Falk, Jordan’s former agent, revealed a series of times when the 6x NBA champion declined juicy offers to just make an appearance in golf tournaments or regular events.

“[Jordan] turned down a deal to do a one-day golf appearance when he was in Asia a few years ago for a pre-season game with Charlotte,” Falk said, talking with WFAN (via Sports Bible).

“And some woman in the Philippines offered me seven million dollars for one day, wanted him to play in a golf tournament. And he turned it down. I brought him a deal three years ago for 100 million dollars. And all he had to do, other than give his name and likeness, was make one two-hour appearance to announce the deal. And he turned it down.”

It wasn’t easy to convince MJ to make these appearances, and truth be told, he didn’t need to. After making a lot of money during his career, taking the Jordan Brand to the top of the world, and buying the Charlotte Hornets, Jordan doesn’t need to worry about money.

His Airness remains exclusive and doesn’t get involved with anybody, making his public appearances more special. He was recently spotted traveling around Europe, visiting Croatia and Montenegro with his wife, Yvette Prieto.

While the NBA and the Hornets get ready for an exciting 2021/22 season, Jordan is spending some excellent time with his wife. He knows his team has a bright future, especially with LaMelo Ball on the roster.
