There is no question that the Washington Wizards underperformed during the start of the season. They were near the bottom of the Western Conference, due to a variety of issues. However, they have bounced back in a massive way, and have ended up as the 8th seed after the results of the play-in tournament.

Part of the reason for the Wizards’ turnaround is the stellar play of superstars Russell Westbrook and Bradley Beal. Bradley Beal finished second in the scoring title race, while Russell Westbrook averaged a triple-double over the course of the season, with amazing performances on their way to the playoffs. They are a dangerous duo without question. In an article by Chase Hughes, he revealed that Washington Wizards’ coach Scott Brooks has even claimed that they are the best backcourt in the league when referring to their chances against the 76ers.

We’re one of 16 teams that have a chance to win a championship. Is it the odds are against us? I don’t know. I mean, it’s happened before with an eighth seed over a one seed. It’s not like we’re going to do something that’s never happened. We’re excited about it. When you have the best backcourt in basketball, you have a chance to win every night,

There are certainly other backcourts in the league that could compare to Westbrook and Beal, but it is clear that they are among the most dangerous. The Washington Wizards have two top-tier players in the league, and it seems as though they believe they could pull off an upset over the Philadelphia 76ers.
