Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler isn’t the flashiest of players, but he is having, perhaps, one of the best seasons of his career.

Averaging 21.5 points, 7.2 assists, and 6.9 rebounds per game, he has been a key player for the Heat. And, according to ESPN insider Zach Lowe, it’s about time we start to appreciate it…

“If you look at Jimmy Butler’s stats, they are off-the-charts good. He has better advanced stats than Kawhi [Leonard], defensively we know what he is, his assists, passing and all that. I said it last week – he’s had the most underappreciated , under-the-radar, great season in the NBA. If he doesn’t make an all NBA team of some stripe there’s a problem.”

Besides what he does on the stat sheet, Butler is a solid leader and motivator for the Heat, constantly pushing them to improve.

Unfortunately, the Heat have had a pretty rough season, thanks mostly to injuries and the impact of COVID-19, which has really interrupted how much time these players have had to play with each other.

The future remains uncertain, but with Butler and co-star Bam Adebayo, Miami has a chance to make some real noise, and it will be interesting to see what they can do.
