LeBron James led the Lakers to their 17th title last year. And, despite all the obstacles, James has every intention of helping to lead them to another.

As the team lifted their banner, with fans in the stands, James sent out an exciting and encouraging message about the road ahead…

“We said we would not reveal this banner until we had some guys in the seats. This is you guys’ moment. We love you and the road to back-to-back starts in about a week. Let’s get going.”

The Lakers are actually sitting at 7th in the West, which means they could have to fight through the play-in tournament to even get into the playoffs. And, if they do get in, they will definitely not have home-court advantage.

Perhaps even more worrying is the health of LeBron James, who has missed significant time dealing with an ankle injury.

If James isn’t 100%, it could seriously hinder the Lakers’ chance of repeating, especially in the loaded West.

Considering all of that, it must be good for Lakers fans to hear James seem so focused on the upcoming postseason stretch. if he’s locked-in and ready to go, it’s a sign of good things to come.
