Rasheed Wallace Says Damian Lillard Should Win 2021 NBA MVP Award

Rasheed Wallace has made the case for Damian Lillard as the 2021 NBA MVP after the point guard is having a great season with the Portland Trail Blazers. You could say the team hasn’t performed as the Philadelphia 76ers of Joel Embiid, the Brooklyn Nets of James Harden, or the Los Angeles Lakers of LeBron James but Dame is the reason his team is still competing for a spot in the playoffs.

Wallace recently joined ESPN’s First Take to discuss a series of topics, including the Brooklyn Nets’ chances to come out of the East and Dame’s case to win the coveted NBA award. While he said it was a tough question seeing all the factors involved, and the fact that not every candidate has played every game, he picked Lillard.

“Right now, I would have to give it to Dame myself, because he’s played in a majority of all the games. We already know Dame is a monster. I would have to give it to him at this moment.”

He also tipped the 76ers over the Nets to win the East this season in one of the best ECF we could see in the league. He paid respect to the Nets and their Big 3 but when asked if he would go with the Sixers, he doubted before saying he sided with Doc Rivers’ team.

Wallace had a very entertaining interview with Stephen A. Smith and Max Kellerman and offered a different opinion about the 2021 MVP. Now people are paying more attention to Nikola Jokic, James Harden, and Joel Embiid, given his dominance after returning from an injury.

Dame has been healthy all season long, has played great basketball, demonstrated his clutchness, and why he’s one of the best point guards in the NBA right now. Now even Stephen Curry is getting more buzz for the MVP than the Portland Trail Blazers star but some figures, like Wallace, are making sure that he’s not forgotten.
