LaMelo Ball made history with the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday night. The No. 3 overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft became the youngest player to record a triple-double in the league, something that his older brother Lonzo Ball had done in 2017.

Melo is ready to make a big impact on the NBA and so far he hasn’t disappointed anybody. The youngest Ball brother dropped 21 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and dished 10 assists in the Hornets 113-105 win over the Atlanta Hawks. Everybody was in awe of Melo and several stars reacted to his first big game in the NBA.

The future looks bright for this kid and the Hornets can’t be more excited about it. Melo has been prepared for this moment during his entire life, as he revealed after the game. When talking about his rebounding prowess, Melo gave a hilarious explanation as to why he’s so good at it.

“It’s just basketball. I’m doing what I love,” Ball said after the game. “I’ve been doing this ever since I was 3.

“I played a lot of 21 when I was growing up. That’s a lot of basketball for real. Pretty much instincts I guess,” Ball said on getting 12 rebounds.

This kid is ready to leave a mark on the Hornets and the NBA. He still has a lot to improve but the things he’s showing so far make the Hornets and their fans dream about a better future. Right now they have a 5-5 record following their Saturday night victory. Things are looking good for Melo, who starred in a very weird sequence with teammate Bismack Biyombo on Friday when the latter shoved and was visibly mad at the young baller.
