Twitter is still processing Russell Westbrooks’ triple-double in his regular-season debut with the Washington Wizards. The former MVP posted the stat line he’s renowned for by the end of the third quarter.
Russell Westbrook (13 PTS, 10 REB, 14 AST) is the first Wizards player ever to record a triple-double in their debut.

The veteran point guard was traded to the Wizards over the 2020 offseason after just one year with the Houston Rockets. Some were quick to point out the fact Russell wanted out after Houston’s collapse in the NBA playoff bubble in Orlando.
You can’t convince me Russell Westbrook was the problem in Houston. I’ll leave it at that.

It will be interesting to see if the new addition of Westbrook can bring some winning to D.C. With the Rockets’ regular-season opener postponed, it will be interesting to evaluate the trade once John Wall makes his debut.
