Metta World Changes His Mind Again: ‘LeBron James Is The GOAT. Never Thought I Would Say That Over My Brother 24 And My Favorite MJ’

Metta World Peace is one of the most colorful characters in NBA history and that goes without saying. He’s starred in some iconic moments, including the infamous ‘Malice at the Palace’ brawl and fans seem to love him for his antics, top-notch defense, and countless name changes.

Formerly known as Ron Artest, the former Lakers forward has constantly backed up Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant as the greatest players of all time. However, it seems like he’s finally changed his mind and is now leaning towards LeBron James, going as far as to say that he’s better than aliens:

“@KingJames is the goat. Never thought I would say that over my brother 24 and my favorite mj. I was an Allstar in mj Jersey 23. I changed my number for one season to honor a legend. But the King is the greatest athlete to ever touch this galaxy. Better than the aliens too,” Metta said on a now-deleted Tweet.

Metta deleted the Tweet but still retweeted a report by Brandon Scoop B! Robinson, hinting that he may actually think that way. However, he followed up with a more politically correct Tweet that simply read: “Everybody is the goat”:

Everybody is the goat

Everybody’s entitled to his own opinion and, to be fair to Metta, we’ve also been going back-and-forth regarding the Greatest Of All Time debate.

It’s just too difficult to compare eras, contexts, talents, competition. LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, and Michael Jordan all have strong arguments to back up their cases as the greatest player to ever do it, and there will never be a 100% objective, non-biased take about it.

I guess the bottom line of this story is that it doesn’t matter who the GOAT is. As basketball fans, we should just enjoy greatness.
