Κevin Durant Roasts Knicks Fans And Media For “Bothering Him” During 2018-19 Season

Last summer, Kevin Durant’s impending free-agency had the potential to shake up the entire NBA. With many questions regarding his future, he had everyone on edge in the months leading up to free agency.

We know now that he chose to join the Brooklyn Nets and create a powerful new duo with Kyrie Irving. But, as Durant would go on to explain on the Joe Budden Podcast, it was the Knicks community who was harassing him with questions regarding his plans in free agency.

In response to why he keeps talking about the Knicks (well after his decision to leave them behind), here is what he said:

“What you mean? They bothered me for a whole year! I was just trying to chill and just play and worry about my season,” the Nets forward said, via SB Nation.

“All the Knick fans, those Knicks media. They bothered me the whole year. But when it’s my time to talk about it, I gotta shut up now?? I’ve been wanting to ask these questions for a year. Now that I’m available, it’s a problem?”

In case you haven’t noticed, Durant has been subtly shading the Knicks organization (and their community) for a while now. Considering all of that, and the fact that he joined the rivals, it’s fair to say KD has some real animosity towards the Knickerbockers.

The culture there just seems to be something he’s not about, and the mess they’ve put themselves in as an organization certainly doesn’t help make things better.

Regardless, it will be interesting to see what KD is able to do in Brooklyn. Will he return to his MVP form? Will the Nets reach their Championship potential?

As for the Knicks, their focus right now is to dig themselves out of the abyss. And, on that front, they’ve got a lot of work to do.
