Jaylen Brown On Nick Nurse Coming On The Court: “Grown Men Should Be Able To Control Themselves. Especially The Coaches And Coaching Staff. But Nothing We Can Do. We Just Gotta Be Ready To Fight.”

Jaylen Brown took a shot at Toronto Raptors head coach Nick Nurse for coming on the court during the last minutes of the 4th quarter. While Jayson Tatum was driving to the rim, he attempted a pass to the corner but no Celtics player was there, it was Nurse. To make things worse, Nurse appeared to be set to attempt a 3-pointer, which made everything even more confusing.

That turnover gave the ball to the Raptors again, but they couldn’t do anything and the game went to overtime. They needed two extra periods to define the winner of the game, the Raptors, who forced a Game 7 on Friday. After the game, Tatum and Brown had different opinions on the play. While Tatum downplayed that Nurse distracted him on purpose, Brown had some harsh words for the 2019 NBA champion.

“I mean, I turned it over,” Tatum said. “That was my fault. Can’t blame Nick Nurse. He’s not playing. It was my fault.”

Brown, on the other hand, stated that grown men, especially the ones who are in charge of a team, should keep it together in those moments of tension.

“I think it’s a lot of emotions,” Brown said. “It’s very intense and things like that and sometimes things seem to go overboard at times. Let’s keep it in check, let’s keep it respectable, and let’s keep playing basketball. Grown men should be able to control themselves, especially coaching staffs. So, let’s continue to do what we gotta do, play basketball, and be ready to fight.”

Jaylen Brown said things got out of hand, including with the coaching staffs. Asked about the play where Nick Nurse was in the corner, he said, “I think there’s a lot of emotions. It’s very intense. … Grown men should be able to control themselves — especially coaching staffs.”

This series has reached its boiling point and Friday game will be one to remember. That’s for sure. The tension between both squads was more visible after the game was over when both benches cleared and Marcus Smart had to be separated from the Raptors players.

This is what we came to see. This is why we love basketball and we’ll have another confirmation on Friday.
