Kendrick Perkins Names His Top 10 NBA Players After Being Called Out On Live TV

It looks like even his coworkers have had enough of Kendrick Perkins. The 2008 NBA champion doesn’t stop making bold claims and he was called out for that during a recent edition of ‘The Jump.’ On Friday, the crew of Rachel Nichols, Jorge Sedano, Tracy McGrady and Perkins were discussing the abilities of Pascal Siakam.

The Toronto Raptors big man has improved his game season after season and now has become an All-Star, leading the Toronto Raptors to remain in the top 3 of the Eastern Conference. The Cameroonian has been great for the Raptors, but he’s not considered a top 10 player in the league unless you are Kendrick Perkins.

Perk even named Siakam a top 10 player in the league and he was called out for that (2:06 video mark).

“Spicy P is a top 10 player in the league. I said this before the season started and I say it now. This guy may not be the prettiest, he’s not Kevin Durant but he gets the job done, he got mid-range, he got post up, he’s athletic, he’s long, he runs the floor like a deer and he’s becoming a better knockdown 3-point shooter and he’s the leader of the team. Nick Nurse has full confidence in him, Kyle Lowry has taken a backseat to Pascal and they’re letting him do his thing and he haven’t disappointed this year. I think the sky’s the limit for Spicy P and he’s a top 10 player right now.”

After those remarks, Jorge Sedano, Rachel Nichols and Tracy McGrady asked Perk to do his top 10 list of NBA players right now. The former big man took to Twitter to deliver his list. In no particular order, he selected LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo, James Harden, Luka Doncic, Kawhi Leonard, Anthony Davis, Joel Embiid, Damian Lillard, Russell Westbrook, and Pascal Siakam.

He also gave honorable mentions to Jayson Tatum, Nikola Jokic, Jimmy Butler, Trae Young and Bradley Beal.

Moreover, he doubled down his comments on Siakam, explaining how the departure of Kawhi Leonard gave him a bigger role with the team and he was doing just fine without the Klaw.

“When Kawhi left Toronto everybody counted them out except me…now they are currently sitting at the number 2 spot in the East with a better record than last year!Siakam – All-Star Starter averaging 23.6-7.5-4 as the Nimber 1 guy!!!He’s A Top 10 Player THIS Season.”

It’s not a secret that this guy likes to make bold claims. Perkins is used to getting a big backlash for his comments and he’s not bothered by that. He was called out and he delivered. Most people don’t probably agree with him but that is his top 10.

Siakam has been great this season, no doubt about it, but he’s one or two steps behind the truly elite players in the league.
