NBA Will Launch Players-Only NBA 2K Tournament, DeMarcus Cousins Is Among The Participants

2 Min Read

The NBA is trying to find ways to entertain fans and players during the suspension amid the coronavirus crisis. According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, the league will launch a players-only NBA 2K tournament, which is set to start on Friday and will be broadcasted by a major network, with some suggesting ESPN.

Haynes added that not all 30 teams will have representation in the tournament, and there will be only 16 participants. Moreover, he revealed one participant, 4x All-Star DeMarcus Cousins, whose last team was the Los Angeles Lakers before the Purple and Gold waived him to make room for Markieff Morris when the trade deadline struck last February.

It remains to be seen if Cousins will represent the Lakers in the tournament, but he’s one of the 16 players who will take the challenge to be crowned as the champion of this new tournament.

NBA Fans keep finding ways to not miss the action as before. Just when the NBA 2K tournament was reported, rumors saw the light claiming ESPN was moving up the release date for Michael Jordan’s documentary.

It looks like we will have some things to see and enjoy while this coronavirus crisis is under control and the NBA returns to action.
