The 2020 All-Star Game is finally set. We know all the players that made the cut, and most importantly, those that were snubbed from it.
Picking the players that are worthy of an All-Star selection is extremely difficult and tricky. Should his team’s record count? Should we vote with our hearts or with our minds?
But, passion aside, there are a handful of players whose numbers are objectively All-Star worthy. In some cases, they even have better numbers than other players that made the cut. Today, we’ll list our top 10 2020 All-Star Game snubs:
10. Derrick Rose
18.9 PPG, 2.6 RPG, 6.0 APG
Derrick Rose’s game now is very similar to what we saw from him during his MVP season. He’s driving, kicking, pushing the pace, finishing below the rim and even fighting through contact.
Rose is averaging career highs in points and assists per game per 36 minutes. The All-Star Game is in his hometown Chicago. We all wanted to see him there.
9. Jaylen Brown
20.1 PPG, 6.6 RPG, 2.4 APG, 1.2 SPG
The Boston Celtics have Kemba Walker and Jayson Tatum in the big game this season, but we can’t help to think Jaylen Brown was also worthy of a spot this year.
Brown has really stepped up in both ends of the floor this season. He’s improved his free-throw shooting, has expanded his range and is a vastly underrated defender. He should’ve made the cut.
8. Tobias Harris
19.4 PPG, 6.8 RPG, 3.0 APG
The Philadelphia 76ers are one of the strongest teams in the Eastern Conference. However, it seems like people forget how much they struggle to knock down shots before they traded for Tobias Harris.
Harris doesn’t get any love because he has to share the floor with other stars. Still, he’s incredibly productive and the Sixers’ best spot-up shooter.
7. Zach LaVine
25.1 PPG, 4.9 RPG, 4.0 APG, 1.4 SPG
Zach LaVine is craving his first All-Star nod and we all thought he was finally going to make the cut now that the game is set to take place in Chicago. However, we were wrong.
We get it, the Chicago Bulls have been terrible this season. Still, LaVine has shown glimpses of his ability to be one of the league’s leading scorers. Also, who wouldn’t love to see his electrifying dunks on an All-Star Game?
6. DeMar DeRozan
23.0 PPG, 5.7 RPG, 5.2 APG, 1.0 SPG
Ever since DeMar DeRozan left the Toronto Raptors his reputation in the league took a bit of a hit. He was a bit of a scapegoat during their title run, and how he’s not even an All-Star anymore.
Truth to be told, DeRozan is the only reason why the San Antonio Spurs are still pushing for a playoff spot. He’s one of the most efficient scorers in the league, and should’ve been an All-Star again.
5. Andre Drummond
17.2 PPG, 15.6 RPG, 2.8 APG, 2.1 SPG, 1.8 BPG
C’mon man, Andre Drummond is a superstar. He must leave the Detroit Pistons right now if he wants to get the recognition and praise he totally deserves.
He’s the league leader in rebounds per game, a dominant force in the post, and a guy whose numbers would be enough to put him in the Defensive Player of the Year race if he played elsewhere. Huge snub.
4. Karl-Anthony Towns
26.9 PPG, 10.7 RPG, 4.2 APG, 1.2 BPG
Karl-Anthony Towns’ impact is so big that the Minnesota Timberwolves were barely able to get anything going when he was sidelined with an injury. He’s one of the most talented big men we’ve ever seen.
Towns is a walking double-double and an efficient scorer from all three levels. Sure, he could’ve put more effort in the defensive end, but regardless, he’s a superstar and should be treated as such.
3. Paul George
22.9 PPG, 5.9 RPG, 3.7 APG, 1.4 SPG
In what world is Paul George not an All-Star? I mean, he’s so good, he was the main reason why Kawhi Leonard decided to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers this summer.
Injuries have taken a toll on his ability to stay on the court this season, we get that, but he’s been a walking bucket and a suffocating defender when he’s been able to play. He should’ve been here.
2. Bradley Beal
28.7 PPG, 4.5 RPG, 6.4 APG, 1.0 SPG
The league always talks about how much they want the game to have some balance. They don’t want stars always leaving for big markets, yet they’re punishing Bradley Beal for staying loyal to the Washington Wizards.
Beal is having one of the best seasons a shooting guard has ever had in the league. However, his team’s poor record cost him an All-Star nod. We think that’s just a huge disrespect.
1. Devin Booker
27.1 PPG, 4.1 RPG, 6.4 APG
Devin Booker is another victim of playing on a bad team and a small market. We’re talking about a guy that’s scoring 27 points per game on 63% true shooting percentage.
Booker is the only player on NBA history to post these kinds of numbers and not make the All-Star Game. His shooting 51/36/91 and proving that he’s one of the most unguardable players the league has seen in decades.
