LeBron James Sends A Message About Anthony Davis Trade After The Monster Performance Against The Pelicans

2 Min Read

In the aftermath of a dominant performance against his former team, there was a sense of peace for Anthony Davis and the Lakers.

A year ago, the Lakers took a huge risk in trading for Davis, not knowing how things would work out in a pairing between him and LeBron. At the time, they sacrificed young players that many within the community considered untradeable. Despite the injury scares, despite the fact that he has yet to commit beyond this season, it’s clear that the Lakers made the right move.

And in an Instagram post following last night’s game, King James made sure to let the world know.

In the trade for Davis, L.A. famously gave up Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart, and young star forward Brandon Ingram. The team was getting a lot of heat at the time for giving these fan-favorites up.

A year later, there is no questioning AD’s worth. His presence alone has given the team what it needs to compete for a title, averaging 25.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks on 50% shooting.

Meanwhile, everyone but Ball is struggling to find their footing in New Orleans. Both Lonzo and Hart have seemingly fallen to the backburner.

In hindsight, it’s no argument: the Lakers won the Anthony Davis trade. Last night was just AD’s no-so-subtle way of proving it.
