Former NBA player Terrence Ross recently explained why he believes LeBron James is the greatest basketball player of all time (GOAT) over Michael Jordan during a stream. Ross, known for his high basketball IQ and on-court performances, shared his thoughts on LeBron’s dominance, particularly during the Olympics, and how James’ longevity and consistency put him above Jordan in the GOAT debate.

“LeBron was the best player in the entire Olympics, bro Curry did his shit in the last two games. He absolutely shot the piss out of the ball like he’s known to do LeBron really put the team on his back and led them all the way there I mean without LeBron curry might not even get those shots off.”

“LeBron to me now, is the GOAT. I don’t know how you put Jordan over if Jordan would have done what he was doing for 20 years. I’m like, yeah, like LeBron has a long way to go. The truth of the matter is he played basketball twice, returned twice, got a three-peat on his first return.”

“And the second time he came back, he was not the same player. LeBron has literally been on a peak his entire career. I mean, he just gets older, but he’s still as effective as he’s always been.”

“I mean, and the level of competition he’s doing it against is, to me, more impressive than the competition Jordan went against, if we’re going to be honest about it.”

Ross began by praising LeBron’s performance during the Olympics, calling him the best player in the entire Olympics. While acknowledging Stephen Curry’s impressive shooting in the final two games of the tournament, Ross emphasized how LeBron “really put the team on his back and led them all the way.”

He argued that without LeBron’s leadership and playmaking, Curry might not have even had the opportunity to make his crucial shots. According to Ross, this level of leadership and impact on the game is one of the reasons LeBron deserves not just the Olympic MVP but also the title of GOAT.

Ross also touched on the unique nature of LeBron’s career, highlighting his ability to perform at an elite level for over two decades. While acknowledging Jordan’s legendary three-peats and dominance in the 1990s, Ross noted that Jordan’s career trajectory included multiple retirements and a noticeable decline during his second comeback.

In contrast, Ross marveled at LeBron’s ability to remain at the top of his game, despite his age. He added that while LeBron may have slowed down physically, he has remained just as effective on the court. Ross believes that LeBron’s longevity is unmatched, especially when compared to Jordan, who, according to him, could not maintain the same level of performance over such an extended period.

Finally, Ross discussed the level of competition each player faced. He argued that the modern NBA, in which LeBron James competes, features tougher and more skilled opponents than Michael Jordan’s era. In Ross’s view, LeBron’s consistency, longevity, and ability to thrive against elite competition cement his status as the GOAT, even over Michael Jordan.
