NBA 2K25 is less than a month away from release, with 2K already beginning the process of revealing player ratings. They shared the top-five shooters in the game heading into next season, unsurprisingly led by Stephen Curry who has a perfect 99-rated 3-pointer. He’s followed by Grayson Allen, former teammates Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson, with Mike Conley coming in at No. 5.

Curry is the unquestioned shooting king of the NBA, even at age 36. He made 4.8 threes per game on 40.8% efficiency last season. The versatility he has in his shooting arsenal is second to none, and he’s easily the greatest shooter the NBA has ever seen.
Grayson Allen is coming off an all-time shooting season, averaging 2.7 made threes per game on 46.1% shooting. The offensive gravity of Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal means Allen is almost always open, finding ways to convert all shots that come his way with multiple games last season where he made over nine threes.
His teammate, Durant, averaged 2.2 made threes per game on 41.3% shooting. He’s still not a high-volume shooter from beyond the arc but he’s firmly established himself as one of the best at this skill in a variety of situations.
A player who people once argued might be just as good a shooter as Curry was his backcourt partner Klay Thompson. While Klay is coming off the worst shooting season of his career, his numbers are still among the best at shooting in the NBA. He averaged 3.5 made threes on 38.7% from the field last season and will hope his numbers further improve with the Mavericks this season.
Mike Conley has been shooting with metronomic consistency but has gone largely under the radar. He averaged 2.4 made threes last season on 44.2%, proving to be a crucial part of the Timberwolves spacing with their double-bigs on the inside and potent wing scorer Anthony Edwards.
Do The Players Deserve Their Ratings?
There isn’t a rational person who’d argue with Curry being No. 1 with a perfect 99 in shooting. If his 15-year NBA career wasn’t enough, his four fourth-quarter threes to seal the Gold medal for Team USA on Saturday proved it to any remaining doubters.
Grayson Allen being given a 93 for the second-best shooting rating in the NBA has been controversial, with fans flaming 2K for their decision.
While Allen had an incredible shooting year last season, we need to see him repeat it before we can say he’s a better 3-point shooter than someone like Durant or even Thompson. He did seem like the second-best shooter in the NBA last season, but this has stirred people up. Conley being a top-five shooter has come to many as a surprise as well.
Klay’s holding onto the top five of the best shooters on 2K seems to be because of his legacy, as there were many comparable shooters with his numbers or with better efficiency that he ranks ahead of.
He’ll have to quickly prove to the world he’s no longer washed and maximize the shooting opportunities he gets next to Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving.
