Kevin Durant’s Twitter account is a gold mine and you’ll find a lot of interesting posts in there if you start to dig around. One from 2009 resurfaced recently, where Durant stated he would buy a Christmas present for a fan. With fans now asking him for a present, the 35-year-old hilariously stated he’d delete it.

“Lemme delete this.”

In case he does end up deleting it, the old tweet read, “Need to go Christmas shopping…ima buy sumbody from twitter sumthin too..what yall want? Be realistic now folks lol.”

That was rather sweet on his part and it really shows how differently Durant engaged with fans back then, as he is not going to do something like this now. Back in those days, he was a firm fan favorite and got a lot of love from all corners.

It could be why he thought of doing something like this, but we don’t know what he ended up buying for a lucky fan. It is also entirely possible that he didn’t end up going through with this. Maybe someone could ask him what happened back then, during a press conference next time out.

NBA Fans Hilariously Asked For Presents

The reason Durant joked about deleting it was, of course, because fans started to bombard him with present requests on that old tweet. He received quite a wide range of requests there.

One fan wanted Durant to buy him a house.

A fan wanted a pair of Durant’s signature shoes.

One wanted a PS5.

One joked that he wants his parlay to hit, in response to Durant previously calling out his haters over parlays.

One fan wanted Durant to gift him a Tesla Cybertruck.

Safe to say a lot of these weren’t realistic. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if some other interesting old Durant tweet resurfaces after some time, because there are just so many of them.

The Suns Continue To Roll Even Without Kevin Durant

The 2023-24 season got off to a rough start for Durant’s Phoenix Suns, as they were 4-6 at one point. The injury bug had struck Devin Booker and Bradley Beal, but ever since the former returned to the court, the Suns have been on a roll.

They are now the hottest team in the Western Conference after winning seven games in a row, which has propelled them to fourth in the standings with an 11-6 record. They have won the last two even with Durant being out with a sore right foot.

It is a good sign for the Suns that they can win games even when he’s not playing, but Durant shouldn’t be out for much longer. He warmed up before their game on Sunday against the New York Knicks, but the Suns perhaps erred on the side of caution and didn’t take the risk of playing him

The 2014 MVP has had a phenomenal start to this season, with averages of 31.4 points, 7.1 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 0.7 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game, while shooting 53.3% from the field and 52.2% from three. With him and Booker playing ever so well, the Suns are once again going to contend for the championship.

The only way I see them winning it all, though, is if Beal can stay healthy and deliver on the court. We saw Durant and Booker play at a high level in the playoffs last season, but they didn’t get much help. If Beal can be that consistent scoring threat, then they’d have a shot at winning that elusive championship.
